Fans of Gillian Flynn’s dark view of a marriage in “Gone Girl” may want to read “Masks,” her first comic-book story, to be published by Dark Horse Comics in February.
“Masks,” which is illustrated by the industry veteran Dave Gibbons, chronicles the life of a mother who dons a “Happy Homemaker” mask and a track suit to give her son’s bully a taste of his own medicine. Things get complicated, and violent, from there. The short story was originally published in The Guardian of London in April.

It will be part of the 80-page 200th issue of the anthology series Dark Horse Presents, which will also include a Hellboy adventure written by his creator, Mike Mignola, and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, who also provides the cover.
