A J.K. Rowling bibliography chronicling the publication of the wizarding series that gave the author her name will be released later this year.
J.K. Rowling: A Bibliography will be released this December by Bloomsbury Academic. The only details we know about so far come from the synopsis which reads:
“This is the definitive bibliography of the writings of J.K. Rowling. In addition to complete bibliographic details of all her books, pamphlets, original contributions to published works and broadcasts, there is detailed information on Rowling at auction, on significant reviews and on scholarly work on Rowling. This will be the first source on Rowling consulted by textual scholars, book collectors, auction houses, critics and researchers. The aim of the book is to record fact and dispel rumour on the fascinating publishing history of the Harry Potter series.”
While this doesn’t sound like a book for the masses, it is probably one of the most detailed accounts of the Harry Potter series’ success and will be used primarily in classroom and research settings.
Diehard Harry Potter fans may be very interested in picking up a copy of this whether or not you’re studying the series.
Rowling has a busy year ahead of her. In June she will publish The Cuckoo’s Calling sequel The Silkworm while continuing to work on her Fantastic Beasts movie trilogy. Elsewhere in the Potter world, Universal Orlando is building their Diagon Alley expansion and a stage play looking at Harry’s early years is in the works.
