Three Poets - an evening of poetry reading

Join poets Emma Neale, Paula Green and Siobhan Harvey for an evening of poetry reading at the Pah Homestead. This is an opportunity to hear current and published work from the writers, purchase publications and view current exhibitions.

Emma Neale
Reading from Spark, The Truth Garden, and other newer, uncollected work.
Emma Neale is the current University of Otago Wallace Resident at the Pah Homestead.
Emma Neale is a poet and prose writer, whose first novel, Night Swimming (Vintage, 1998) was followed by her first collection of poetry, Sleeve-notes (Godwit, 1999). In 2000 Neale won the Todd New Writers’ Bursary. Neale's writing has been featured extensively in journals and anthologies; her novel Little Moon (Vintage, 2001) was described by John McCrystal as, ‘flawlessly written, deploying a wealth of descriptive imagery’. Neale won first place in the 2008 Takahe Poetry Competition with her poem 'Well', and was the inaugural recipient of the NZSA Janet Frame Memorial Award for Literature in 2008.

Paula Green
Reading from her latest collection of poems, The Baker's Thumbprint (Seraph Press, 2013) and some of her new children's poems that will be published by Scholastic in August.
Paula Green is a reviewer, anthologist, poet and blogger. She has published eight poetry collections including several for children, a chapter book and a sophisticated picture book. Co-written with Harry Ricketts, her book 99 Ways into New Zealand Poetry was short-listed for the 2010 NZ Post Book Awards. In 2012, she edited Dear Heart: 150 New Zealand Love Poems. She runs two blogs: NZ Poetry Box and NZ Poetry Shelf.

Siobhan Harvey
Reading from her recent Kathleen Grattan Award for Poetry winning manuscript, Cloudboy which is to be published by Otago University Press in May.
Siobhan Harvey is a poet, prose writer, editor, reviewer, and teacher. She is currently the Coordinator of National Poetry Day. Her writing has appeared in a wide range of publications and anthologies and has been broadcast on Radio New Zealand. She was editor of Our Own Kind: 100 New Zealand Poems about Animals (Godwit, 2009), and Words Chosen Carefully: New Zealand Writers in Discussion (Cape Catley, 2010). In 2011 she published her first collection of poetry, Lost Relatives (Steele Roberts Aotearoa).
