The Storylines Margaret Mahy Medal winner for outstanding achievement in the field of children’s literature this year is David Elliot. He will be presented with the Medal and deliver his lecture at Kings School, Remuera, on Saturday 29 March.
David Elliot has published more than thirty books, illustrating both his own texts and stories by writers including Margaret Mahy and Janet Frame, and the Redwall series by Brian Jacques.
The Storylines Children's Literature Foundation of NZ Inc. will hold its annual meeting prior to the lecture, followed by the presentation of a number of awards: the Storylines Joy Cowley Award, the Tom Fitzgibbon Award and the Gaelyn Gordon Award for a Much Loved Book.
