The Emma Press calls for 'mildly' erotic poems

Indie publisher The Emma Press is calling for "understated" submissions to The Emma Press Anthology of Mildly Erotic Verse, lined up for this autumn.
The collection will be published in September and will include black line drawings.
Publisher Emma Wright said: "It's great that erotic literature has reached a wider audience, but there is still room for alternative approaches to the genre. The majority of what is being published seems to prioritise the frequency of sex scenes over the quality of writing and genuinely erotic moments.
"My understanding of what is erotic tends towards the understated, hence proviso of 'mildly' in the title. I believe there is a market for erotic poetry which is well-written and doesn't take itself too seriously."
Entries should be sent to emma@theemmporium.com by 16th May 2013. More details can be found on the website, emmadaianwright.com.
The Emma Press last year released The Flower and the Plough, a short illustrated collection of love poetry by Rachel Piercey.
