RICHIE MCCAW’S BIOGRAPHY ON SALE TUESDAY 9 OCTOBER

The countdown is on to the highly anticipated release of Richie McCaw’s biography –The Open Side ($49.99 RRP, Hodder Moa).

The book, which goes on sale on Tuesday 9 October, is currently  available for pre-order from booksellers around the country and anyone who reserves their copy is in the draw to win a supporter’s pack valued at $4,000.

Captain of the All Blacks since 2006, McCaw is the face of rugby in New Zealand and one of our best-known and most admired figures. He has been named International Player of the Year three times and is considered the greatest player of his generation, and quite possibly the finest loose forward of all time.

In The Open Side, he reveals his passions and motivations, on and off the field. Teamed with Greg McGee, one of our great contemporary writers — and a man who himself is no stranger to rugby culture — the two have produced an outstanding book.

The Open Side delves into the inner McCaw, the defining events and people in his life, as well as providing insight into the modern game and its professional players and coaches.

Richie will be doing two days of book signings in the week of publication at stores in Auckland and Christchurch. A full list of where he will be can be found on the Author Tour section of www.hachette.co.nz
