Kiwi fans of Michael
Palin are in for a treat. The popular star is heading to New Zealand for events
around the country (October 31 – November 2).
Palin will be talking
about his latest travel adventures, which form a major new book, Brazil ($59.99
RRP, Hachette NZ).
Brazil is one of the
four new global super powers with its vast natural resources and burgeoning
industries. Half a continent in size and a potent mix of races, religions and
cultures, of unexplored wildernesses and bustling modern cities, it is also one
of the few countries Palin has never fully travelled. Until now.
In this companion book
to his new series for the BBC – Palin’s first for five years – he explores in
his inimitable way this vast and disparate nation.
Michael Palin is one of
the most popular comic figures of our time. His exploits with the Monty Python
team and in subsequent films such as A Fish Called Wanda are now the
stuff of legend. It is as the adventurous traveller of his major television
series, however, that he has acquired a vast and loyal following. He is also
the author of fiction, with his latest novel The Truth published in July
this year.
With tickets for the
Christchurch evening already sold out and the events in Auckland and Wellington
selling quickly fans need to get in fast. All ticketing details are available
at www.hachette.co.nz.
