AWRF WRITERS ANNOUNCED FOR 2013 SCHOOLS PROGRAMME 15-16 MAY

 Just a few of the fabulous writers who will feature in the 2013 Schools Programme: 
  • ·         Beloved New Zealand author KATE DE GOLDI follows up the prizewinning The 10PM Question with a multi-layered and entrancing story of Perry and her dementia-suffering Gran.
  • ·         US bestselling YA author LIBBA BRAY ranges across dark comedy, satire and historic fantasy in books as diverse as the Gemma Doyle trilogy, Going Bovine, Beauty Queens and her new Diviners series, set in 1920s New York.
  • ·         Acclaimed writer ALBERT WENDT is one of New Zealand and the Pacific’s most accomplished literary voices whose poetry, plays and fiction are regularly discussed in classrooms across the country.
  • ·         Delightful Scottish poet, novelist and writing teacher JACKIE KAY is renowned both for her work and for the wonderful presentations of it she gives to readers of all ages around the world.
  • ·         Rising Samoan star LANI WENDT-YOUNG blends Pacific mythology, fantasy, romance and thrills in her internationally successful Telesa trilogy, downloaded more than 13,000 times to date and also available in print.
  • ·         2012 NZ Post Children’s Book Award supreme winner Nice Day for a War blends “art, humanity and history” in a brilliantly told tale of WW1 soldier Cyril Elliott by cartoonist CHRIS SLANE and author MATT ELLIOTT.
