| | Digital Book World

Announced today by Apple at a special press event, the iPhone5 comes with a four-inch screen — a full half inch larger than the 4S.
The device also has an improved battery life over the 4S, Apple said today, but the company did not give any details on reading time and the hours of talk time, browsing time, video-watching time and music-listening time the new battery can support seem to be about the same as the old phone.

Consumers will pay between US$199 and US$399 for this improved iPhone reading experience; the device ships on Sept. 21.
– $199 for the 16 gigabyte model
– $299 for the 32 gigabyte model
– $399 for the 64 gigabyte model

A recent study found that nearly half of all U.S. adults own smartphones, making it the most commonly owned mobile reading device. Nearly a third of U.S. adults read e-books on their phones, another recent study found.
