Running like 'Clockwork'

An exhibition to mark the 50th anniversary of the Anthony Burgess novel A Clockwork Orange opens this week at the John Rylands Library in Manchester, the author's birthplace.

The exhibition includes rare editions of the book, first published in 1962, plus manuscript letters between Burgess and Stanley Kubrick, whose controversial 1971 film of the novel reached a global audience. Some of the material, provided by the International Anthony Burgess Foundation and the Stanley Kubrick Archive at the University of the Arts in London, has never previously been exhibited.

The exhibition will run until 27th January 2013.
