Canterbury's Lifestyle Magazine

I am in Christchurch for personal and business reasons six or seven times a year and yet for some reason I had not previously come across their very good regional lifestyle magazine, latitude. I thought it must be a new venture but no, the latest issue August September 2012, is issue # 24. The next issue will mark their fifth anniversary.
I was attracted to this issue by the story on Dame Ngaio Marsh and the annual book award named after her. Dame Ngaio was of course a Cantabrian and is still rated as one of the great all-time crime writers.
The annual Ngaio Marsh Award for Best Crime Novel will this year be presented at The Press Christchurch Writers Festival on Saturday 1 September.
