Impressive delivery

Pead PR handle PR for Whitcoulls and I was most impressed with the arresting way in which they delivered to me the news about the 2012-2013 Whitcoulls Top 100 Books.

It came superbly packaged in a red box complete with white bow and with it was a copy of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as it is volume one of Stieg Larsson's Millenium Trilogy which occupies the number one spot on the list for the second successive year.

Thanks to Whitcoulls for carrying out this annual survey, I find the list most fascinating, and if you haven't browsed through already it then you can do so by linking here. Or call in at any Whitcoulls branch and pick up  the attractive brochure.

Nobody else finds the scant presence of ANZ authors a bother?
Despite what my royalty returns tell me?
Could (gasp!) this be an interesting manipulation of what books *actually* sell here?
Rather than what is no-longer-a-ANZ bookchain wants potential customers to believe are the best sellers?

Well, considering that I was unable to find several of this year's NZ Post Children's Book award winners in any Whitcoulls store, it's obvious that this is just the Top 100 of books that they stock - and there are many NZ titles that they inexplicably don't!
