List for the national competition has been announced this week and can be

in Auckland
Awards/ Celebration, Friday 22 June at 5pm, Central
City Library, Whare Wānanga, Level 2.
Emceed by Siobhan Harvey, this event will feature the national and regional
winners of the NFFD competition plus readings by other short fiction writers
including Murray Edmonds, Vivienne Plumb, David Lyndon Brown, Leanne
Radojkovich, Katharine Derrick, Penny Somervaille and others.

In Wellington, flash-fictioneers will meet and be merry at the Library Bar at 6pm. All are welcome.

Writers’ Institute hosts National Flash Fiction Day at
the libraries on Friday 22 June. Readings at Peterborough Central 11 – 11.30am and Upper Riccarton 12 – 12.30pm.

the Flash Fiction Competition, organised by the Whangarei
Libraries. Deadline for submissions Friday 22 June; awards 28 June.
