Following comment about this on the specialist cookbook store Cook the Books website last week a kindly librarian contacted me to say she had a copy that was being withdrawn from circulation, because it wasn't in good enough shape for further library borrowing, and that I could have it if I wished. I was down to her library within the hour, made a $20 donation, and headed off home happily clutching my newly acquired copy.
Lois Daish was always a strong advocate for seasonal cooking, one of the first to cross my radar, so this book is set out in calendar sequence. I went to February and there was a recipe for oven-glazed apricots which I can warmly recommend if you own a copy of the book.
I couldn't find the recipe on-line but there are a host of others by Lois at this Radio NZ website.

You will love it! It is truly one of my most used books. When we got 1 copy in last year, it went out in about 30 seconds. I made 18 of the "small rich christmas cakes" this christmas to give away - it is the best christmas cake recipe. I could critique almost every recipe. Cheers, Felicity
Oh I want this book too!! I cut out so many of Lois' recipes and used one just the other day for little apricot cakes (you can use plums too) - enjoy it, Graham...
She's a star - always has been (in my humble opinion).

Lois Daish is my favourite food writer by far. I am too young to whve known her in her Listener days but stumbled on a couple of her books when my mother passed away. My mother was very fussy and adored LD. I am constantly getting her book A Good Year put of the library, and dread the day they withdraw it. I have been eyeing up book fairs and second hand bookshops with no luck. If anyone knows anything about a possible book in the pipelines, please say!
