ROYAL SOCIETY WINTON PRIZE FOR SCIENCE BOOKS 2011: INVITATION TO ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNER

Admission free – no ticket or advance booking required. Doors open at 5.45pm and seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

The winner of the Royal Society Winton Prize for Science Books will be announced at a public event at the Royal Society commencing at 6.30pm on 17 November 2011.  The event will include a panel discussion delving into the world of science communication and evocative and exciting writing, featuring the shortlisted authors and judges of the prize, followed by the announcement of the winner by President of the Royal Society, Sir Paul Nurse.  
The winning book will receive £10,000.  £1000 per book is awarded to the author(s) of the shortlisted books.
The Royal Society Winton Prize for Science 2011 celebrates the best of 2010's new popular science writing for a general adult readership and is open to science books written for a non-specialist audience.
