MARILYN: INTIMATE EXPOSURES
2012 is the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's passing and this lavishly illustrated volume celebrates her enduring beauty through photographs by legendary Hollywood photographer Bruno Bernard, known as Bernard of Hollywood. His photos span from 1946 when he first discovered Norma Jean to his iconic photograph of Marilyn standing over the subway grate in a billowing white dress - an image that is internationally synonymous with Hollywood. The book includes 40 never-before-published photographs, as well has Bernard's handwritten notes, journal entries, negative sleeves and other rare ephemera. Susan Bernard's narrative will reveal a personal view into the private files of her father and the metamorphosis of Norma Jean to Marilyn. Published by Sterling Signature, Oct. 2011.
Susan Bernard is the author of six books, including the best-selling Bernard of Hollywood's Ultimate Pin-Up Book and Joyous Motherhood. Founder and President of Bernard of Hollywood Publishing/Renaissance Road, Inc. she preserves and internationally exhibits, publishes and licenses her late father's work. Susan has a cult following, having starred at the age of 16 in "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" and co-starred with such legends as Orson Welles and Henry Fonda. For the networks, she developed the docudramas "The Diary of Anais Nin," "The Nelly Bly Story" and "The Ernie Davis Story." With Whoopi Goldberg, Susan co-produced the feature film "The Mao Game," based on her son Joshua Miller's first novel. She was named as one of Playboy Magazine's '100 Most Beautiful Women Of The Century.' A resident of Los Angeles' Hancock Park, she is an active member of PEN Center USA and is currently working on a novel
