LADY GAGA AND TERRY RICHARDSON COLLABORATE ON UNPRECEDENTED BOOK OF PHOTOGRAPHS

To be published by Hodder & Stoughton 22 November 2011

Hodder and Stoughton is delighted to announce that it will publish LADY GAGA x TERRY RICHARDSON, a book of never-before-seen photographs of Lady Gaga taken by renowned photographer Terry Richardson, with a foreword by Lady Gaga. It is Lady Gaga’s first official book. Cover right.

A visual dialogue between Lady Gaga and Terry Richardson, the book will showcase over 350 colour and black and white photographs taken during the 10 month period in which Richardson followed Lady Gaga and had complete access to her everyday life, with nothing being off limits.
Richardson brilliantly captures the intimate, random, behind-the-scenes moments of Lady Gaga in both her professional and personal life. During the almost year-long global odyssey, Richardson took over 100,000 images and followed the recording process of Born This Way. The resulting book,
featuring the most revelatory and exciting of these photographs, captures Lady Gaga as never seen before.
Lady Gaga came to prominence following the release of her debut studio album The Fame (2008). Her contributions to the music industry have garnered her numerous achievements including five Grammy Awards, three BRIT awards, two Guinness World Records and the sale of 20 million
albums and 64 million singles worldwide. She is the most followed Twitter user in the world with 13 million followers and 43 million Facebook fans. Lady Gaga has received over a billion views on YouTube
and she is the most downloaded artist in history. Gaga was named Forbes' Most Powerful Woman in the World 2011 and was included in Time's annual ‘The 2010 Time 100’ list of the most influential people in the world.
Terry Richardson (left) is one of the most prolific and compelling photographers of his generation. Richardson’s editorial work has appeared in magazines such as French Vogue, British Vogue, GQ, and
Harper's Bazaar. His work has been the subject of numerous group and one man shows throughout the world.
