Taschen appoints digital director

The Bookseller - 16.11.10 - Katie Allen

Taschen has appointed Julius Wiedemann as director of digital publications.
He was previously executive editor for design and pop culture at the illustrated publisher.

His new responsibilities will include building a programme of e-books based on current production, on the entire backlist of Taschen and also "thinking about how should we be doing titles in the future".

Digital titles are set to include e-book adaptations of current layouts and apps.

Weidemann has worked at the publisher for almost 10 years. Prior to working at Taschen he was an editor for magazines in Japan, mainly about computer graphics.
