Murdoch Books - $90

Two big books, two big turnouts at book launches in Auckland last evening. Fortunately for The Bookman the events were only 100 metres apart so I managed to put in an appearance at both.
The Still Life launch drew the publisher, Juliet Rogers CEO of Murdoch Books and the book's designer, the talented Reuben Crossman across from Sydney. Pics below show Juliet Rogers with North & South editor Virginia Larson, and Nigel Watson with Jane Ussher.

Meanwhile down the road there was a great gathering of musos, and others, to celebrate publication of Chris Bourke's monumental piece of New Zealand popular music history which appropriately was launched by Tim Finn and MC'd by Merv Thomas (of Merv Thomas and the Dixielanders) .
And in what might be some sort of record at a book launch over 70 copies of the book were sold. Photo shows Chris Bourke signing one of those 70+ copies and below Tim Finn addressing the capacity crowd at the Gus Fisher Gallery.
