News from the  Children's Librarian at Christchurch City Libraries -
new blog for children, the Christchurch Kids Blog.

The Christchurch Kids Blog (http://christchurchkids.wordpress.com/) is a new initiative that we have set up at Christchurch City Libraries.
The Christchurch Kids blog is by, for, and about children living in New Zealand – especially 8 to 12 year olds living in Christchurch and Canterbury. Children can find information on things that interest them, from music and movies to friends and school, books and reading.

Our aim is to get children in Christchurch and Canterbury discussing books they read, movies they watch, music they listen to, and interacting with authors. Children are able to comment on blog posts, giving their views and opinions and they are also able to create their own content on things that interest them.

We will be featuring a Star Author each month who will blog about their books, offer writing tips and answer reader’s questions. Our Star Author for October, pic left, is the fantastic Christchurch author, Bill Nagelkerke.

The Christchurch Kids Blog is a great place for children and parents to find ideas for school holiday activities. We have a list of holiday activities, book and movie reviews , and you can win prizes just for commenting on the blog. Come on over and check it out.
