True Stories Told Live event - True stories about fathers

A mans body is a meeting house, / Ribs, arms, for the tribe to gather under, / And the heart must be their spring of water.
James K. Baxter

Next Sunday on Fathers Day, the New Zealand Book Council will hold another of its highly successful True Stories, Told Live events: eight people, eight stories, straight up, unscripted, live and unrehearsed. The theme for the event will be Fathers

Speakers for the next event are:

Sue Reidy
Paul Shannon
Michael Hurst
Heidi Tannenbaum
Ainsley Hogarth
Richard Smith
Stanley Makuwe
Kathy Lissienko

In this new and highly engaging format, the Book Council gets reacquainted with the oral tradition -- storytelling in a different form.

It' s about getting up in a room in front of an audience and telling a story. It could be anything but something with a beginning, middle and an end and it sort of needs to be true

It's about bringing back the oral tradition, about not losing focus amongst all that technology; its about our own imaginations and that connective inspiration.

TAPAC Motions Road (opposite the Zoo)
Sept 5 @ 4pm
$10.00 on the door (no pre sales)

The bar will definitely be open come early and grab a drink
