Hire wire act continues for Theresa Gattung

Former CEO of Telecom, Theresa Gattung, hit the media spot-light again earlier this month, following the publication of her no-holds barred memoir, Bird on a Wire.

Bird on a Wire proved so popular that an immediate reprint was ordered within the first week of going on sale, orders having exceeded the book’s initial print run.  Gattung’s memoir hit the bestseller lists immediately, storming straight into the number one slot in the category New Zealand Non-Fiction – Adults, for the week ending March 20, 2010. Within three weeks of going on sale in New Zealand, Bird on a Wire has sold more than 6,000 copies and will be released by Random House Australia next month.

Nicola Legat, Deputy Publishing Director Random House New Zealand, said that she was “absolutely delighted that a memoir about such a significant New Zealander as Theresa has met with such huge success” and went on to say “it’s not often that a book proves so popular that you have to reprint it immediately.”

Bird on a Wire is Theresa Gattung’s first book; it was published by Random House New Zealand on March 5, 2010, RRP: $39.99.
