WETLANDS
Charlotte Roche - Harper Collins.

I read the book last month and have been at somewhat of a loss as to what to write about it since apart from the fact that is should have an R18 sticker on the cover.

Now reviews have appeared on New York Blog which sum up the book up better than I ever could. Have a read.

Isn't it a bit like the Emperor's New Clothes story? I have felt the same, as the first writer of your link, many times about some books which have gone on to win awards and make their author's mega rich and I'm going 'huh? What did I miss?'

As Vanda Symon once said in a blog post - yes, dear reader, accompany the characters to the door of the bedroom, but that door will be firmly closed with you on the outside.

Currently working on the balance between writing passion which will engage YA without turning them off. They DO NOT want to know or be reminded of penises, bodily fluid, anything other than kissing and sensuous hand holding. Everything else, at this age is akin to seeing their parents pash!
