SHAKESPEARE AT AUCKLAND CITY LIBRARY

To celebrate the 400th anniversary of the publication of Shakespeare's sonnets, and also his birthday on April 23rd, for this month and next Auckland City Library has organised some interesting Shakespeare events at the Central Library - not to mention a wonderful exhibition organised by Iain Sharp and Special Collections starring their "rarissimo" first folio (I believe there are only 2 in the Southern Hemisphere) and their other not quite so rare folios.
Also:

- a series of lunchtime lectures by Profs. Mac Jackson,Tom Bishop and Gordon McLauchlan

- a birthday celebration on the evening of the 23rd, with special guests reading excerpts from Shakespeare (they are Peter Elliott, Robert Eruera, Michael Hurst, Hamish Keith, Robyn Malcolm, Gordon McLauchlan, Emily Perkins, Paul Reynolds, Cameron Rhodes, Paolo Rotondo, Iain Sharp and Jennifer Ward-Lealand).
