Borders in the US has teamed up with guidebooks publisher Frommer's to create a "Borders Trip Recommender" to help customers plan their travels.
The Trip Recommender consists of digital travel information and planning tools, and will be available from Borders' Travel Kiosk, a touch-screen display unit installed in the book chain's concept store in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which will also be rolled out nationwide over the next few months.

Users are able to enter information about the type of trip they are planning, and the kiosk provides customised destination recommendations. Customers can then click on suggested destinations to access relevant books, DVDs and other resources on that area selected by Borders' travel buyers.

The Borders Trip Recommender was created by Frommer's and website Whatsonwhen, both imprints of Wiley. Larry Olson, Wiley vice president and director of marketing, said: "The travel kiosk is designed to provide unprecedented in-store access to a variety of travel planning tools and resources as well as expert recommendations on destination-specific books and other resources - so customers can research and plan the best trip possible."
